The funniest man in the world

Well, another reviewer says they laughed at this twice. They also recommended Michael McIntyre instead, which I think tells you everything you need to know.

I could be rude about them, but then this wouldn't make it past submission.

In fact, although many of Frankie's jokes ended up on Mock the Week (not the other way around), a lot of this is far too offensive to get on TV, and much of it is off the cuff. It's hilarious from start to finish. You will hurt. What's great about Frankie is that he is actually interested in comedy as a form, and is trying to be individual (if originality is rather difficult these days for the angry comic). He is also genuinely trying to make us think about what is acceptable content for a joke. If, like me, you think humour is one of the only ways we can cope with tragedy and horror, and that therefore anything is acceptable providing it is not exploitative, you will love this DVD. If, however, you think cancer, rape, cerebral palsy and Down's Syndrome are unsuitable areas for comedy, do not repeat do not watch this. And while you're at it, have a rethink. Because this is as close as British comedy has come to a Bill Hicks or Lenny Bruce type of comic. Long may he reign.

You don't want to sit in the front of one of his shows.

This was my first show from Frankie Boyle and it was immediately spot on, exactly what I wanted it to be. Frankie Boyle is funny, there is no doubt about that, but to some people he might be too offensive, too rude for some spectators. So if you are one of those people that gets quickly offended just don't watch his shows because there are some insulting parts, alot in fact, and if you don't get that kinda humor his shows are just not for you. Sarcasm is just the most difficult form of humor, where only good comedians get away with it. And Frankie Boyle is one of them. He interacts alot with his audience and the genious about that is that he always has a funny answer to anything they say to him, and that's not rehearsed, it's all natural. You don't want to sit in the front of his shows if you want to be ignored. Frankie Boyle, great comedian, interacting with people all the time, with jokes that only a selected crowd can understand and laugh with.

Recycled one-liners from 'Mock the week'

I'm guessing anybody that would buy this DVD grew to like Frankie Boyle through 'Mock the week', I know I did. His brutal and quick wit made him the high point of what was already a great show, so when I saw his first live stand up DVD was being realised, I excitedly went out and bought it, expecting the hilarity of the panel show but possibly even funnier. I was wrong.

Instead of a flowing reel of funny banter what you get is a serious of unconnected one-liners that had already been used (much to the amusement of everyone watching the show) on 'Mock the week'. He picked out members of the audience to insult (I later saw him do the same on the live at the Apollo show, even using the exact same phrases), unfunnily.

I think I genuinely laughed twice. Very disappointing.

Save your money and go for Michael Mcintyre or Lee Evans.

Frankie Boyle: Live

Warning: Spoilers

I was really disappointed when I heard that one of my favourite comedians on the panel show Mock the Week was leaving, but I am sure he has done this for good reasons. Anyway, many people accuse Frankie Boyle of making sure all his jokes are going to be offensive because no-one else is brave to go into those territories. There are those people that think he is deliberately doing it to get those negative comments in the newspapers and stuff. But whatever your opinion of him, he is still a great rising star in the world of stand-up comedy, maybe for the wrong reasons, but who cares? Here he debuts on DVD with this show he performed at the Hackney Empire Theatre, and he manages to both shock and delight people with his most foul and fiendish gags. I will admit one or two of the jokes were a little close to the mark, but all in all I was able to take it and like it. Frankie Boyle was number 29 on 100 Greatest Stand-Ups 2010. Very good!

Sick , Scottish and superb!

They say Comedy is the new religion and if that's the case i say hallelujah to Frankie Boyle. Whilst my previous favourite comics , Billy Connolly and Eddie Izzard seem to have been off their a game in recent years , Frankie Boyle has took the baton and ran with it. He's sick as hell and that's the kind of humour i love. There are no taboo's as far as Boyle is concerned. He attacks the audience , he attacks nationalities , he attacks everyone and he leaves no prisoners but most off all , he makes me laugh out loud and not many comics can do that to me anymore. Sure people will be offended by what he says but if they are they should just turn off because this comic is Pure genius.

Mock the week Live

I love Frankie Boyle his dark humour always makes me laugh and he is always unafraid to say the harsh and real things other comedian's shy away from he speaks truths and makes you laugh at them.

I would have given this live performance a higher rating but sadly most of the jokes ate recycled from Mock the week so most of them I have already heard but they do still make you laugh and is interactions with the adduience is very funny and makes the show worth watching even if most of the jokes are old.

I recommend this to any Frankie Boyle fan or anyone who enjoys dark humour from a comedian who has no filter is worth an hour of your time.
